For anyone that has ever walked past the toy section at Barnes and Noble or a local Hot Topic, you’ve probably seen Funko. The diminutive, yet completely adorable figurines based on popular pop culture personalities have garnered the company quite a following since they first hit the market in 2010. The company was founded by former Marvel Comics executive Brian Mariotti and is headquartered in Everett, Washington.
Funko is best known for their Pop! Vinyl line of bobblehead-looking toys, but the company also produces a wide range of collectibles including Mystery Minis, Ad Icons and stuffed Plushies. They have hundreds of licenses and produce merchandise from every major movie, TV show and sports franchise you can think of.
The Hollywood store is the second brick and mortar location opened by Funko and is self-described as “a land of whimsy, adventure, fun, larger-than-life photo opportunities and immersive sets inspired by your favorite worlds, characters and moments.”
This massive space is filled with character displays, a dedicated Pop! customizing area and an entire wall of t-shirts. The store is broken up into hubs that are based on multi-billion dollar cinematic entities like Star Wars, Disney animation and the Marvel Cinematic Universe as well as anime properties, music and gaming entities such as Fortnite.
The store is open seven days a week and is a must-visit for any pop culture fan. The best part is that the whole family can enjoy a day at the store without breaking the bank (unless you’re buying a lot of custom funko pops!). Located right in downtown Everett, you can easily walk to Karl’s Bakery or Valley Organic Deli for food or Independent Beer Bar for drinks after your visit. funko store
